Grant Mint Festival 2008

grand mint festival 2008Mintpaper, a popular Web site that offers various articles, events, radio programs, interviews and other cultural contents, is holding its Grand Mint Festival (GMF) at the Olympic Park.

The festival will be an open space where famous artists can reinvent their identity, while unknown singers can introduce themselves to the public. A total of 62 entertainers will appear at the festival, which has become famous among fans for its picnic-like atmosphere and bringing famous and undiscovered singers and bands together to create a breezy evening full of music.

Instead of the usual venues where the singers are high on the stage while the fans are below, GMF has managed to bring artists and fans a bit closer by setting the stage on the 88 Grass Park and the Waterside Stage.

“One of the most interesting features of the festival is that it feels like a picnic, with nature around you, music flowing in the air and delightful events with some of your favorite stars,” a festival organizer said.

GMF will be held for three days under four different themes: Club Midnight Sunset, Mint Breeze Stage, Loving Forest Garden and Blossom House.

The first day will be a night of club rock, with bands such as Delispice, Super Kidd and Crying Nut rocking the stage under the theme “Club Midnight Sunset.” The following two days will offer three separate stages that fit the three themes, Mint Breeze Stage, Loving Forest Garden and Blossom House.

“Mint Breeze Stage” is offering a stage decorated with special effects and unique settings, where singers Jaurim, Toy and American indie band Yo La Tengo will present their melodies. The first day of “Loving Forest Garden” will be based on a more classical music atmosphere, with pianist Yiruma, singer Jung Jae-hyung and Japanese guitar duo DEPAPEPE appearing. The following day, however, will have a different setting with indie bands Linus’ Blanket, Windy City, and Sweater singing R&B and soul music.

“Blossom House” will bring professional DJs and combine music and visuals together with modern rock band Dear Cloud, Japanese bossa nova band Naomi & Goro and indie band Sunstroke gracing the stage.

The 62 artist are Yo La Tengo, Old Man River, DEPAPEPE, Mocca, Jaurim, Serengeti, Casker, Windy City, My Aunt Mary, Naomi & Goro, Crying Nut, Atombook, peppertones, toys, Yiruma, Sweater, Linus’ Blanket, Deli Spice, yozoh , Two Ton Shoe, Crystal Rain, yijihyeong, the most talented boy, yihancheol, jeongjaehyeong, dark, Every Single Day, W & Whale, jeonjayang, Ibadi, my sister barbershop, Spring Summer Fall Winter, Deb, Dear cloud, miseonyi, russayiteu rabbits, Hot potato, taru, The Smiles, pepeotonseu, loro’s, Hachiman and TJ, The Canvas, Sunstroke, Monni, sharing, not the yihana, heomin, Old Fish, Starry-eyed, The Moonshiners, imjuyeon, Oh!
